This month-long course meets once a week for 4 hours and provides a comprehensive explanation of the fashion design process. Throughout the course, students will develop the skills to:
- Identify and effectively use pattern-making tools.
- Understand grainlines and prepare muslin for draping.
- Explore flat pattern dart manipulation techniques.
- Learn to drape the basic front and back bodice accurately.
- Master the process of transferring drapes onto paper.
Moreover, students can sketch and create new designs by leveraging dart manipulation techniques to transform their designs into gathers or pleats.
By the end of the course, participants will have a solid foundation in pattern making and draping, enabling them to bring their creative designs to life with technical precision and artistic flair.
Please note that refunds are not available; however, you may transfer to a different class if needed.
Participants can expect up to four hours of homework each week.
While you’ll work towards completing a sloper pattern, success depends on your individual skill level and commitment to completing the assigned homework. Completion of the pattern is not guaranteed.
Dates TBD Saturday 11AM to 3:30 PM EST
