The Three Piece Sloper Set will be provided.
Join us for a month-long course that meets once a week for 4 hours, where you will dive into the fundamentals of sewing. This virtual class will cover the basic operation of a sewing machine, its components, and proper usage. Gain insights into selecting different needles and threads and understanding various fabrics commonly used in sewing projects.
The course will begin by introducing a series of stitching techniques, followed by lessons on different seam finishes that you can practice and retain for future reference. You will start a STITCH FOLDER for future reference. You will learn the control of sewing on a home sewing machine. Learning stitching in circles, curves, straight lines and corners. The French seam, the flat felt seam, the self turned back seam, and more. You will progress to cutting and creating a sloper dress pattern, mastering techniques such as sewing darts, seams, and sleeve to assemble a complete garment in a muslin fabric.
Additionally, learn the art of hand finishes for hems and installing zippers to enhance your sewing skills. By the end of the course, you will have a solid foundation in garment construction and finishing touches.
Please note that refunds are not available; however, you may transfer to a different class if needed.
Participants can expect up to four hours of homework each week.
Prerequisites: Beginning sewing experience is required.
While you’ll work towards completing a sloper pattern, success depends on your individual skill level and commitment to completing the assigned homework. Completion of the pattern is not guaranteed.
